The Nuthouse

Weekdays 3PM - 7PM

On The Nuthouse the other day, we were talking about which movies we were most excited for in 2023. There’s a lot coming to the big screen to look forward to, and actors that we haven’t seen in a while. Here are our top 10 movies coming out in 2023 that we’re most excited for!

This year we’ll see a lot of superhero flicks, explosive action movies, throwbacks to old franchises and more! If you’re a Marvel fan, there’s a lot to look forward to. One of their top releases this year includes The Marvels, which stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, and Samuel L. Jackson. We’ll also see a few franchise movies making a comeback, like Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 4. We’ll even some people make it to the big screen that you usually don’t see, like Tampa QB Tom Brady. There are bunch that didn’t make our list. Rotten Tomatoes has a list of 35 movies coming out this year that everyone is excited for, but we condensed our picks to the top 10!

Here are our top 10 most anticipated movies coming out in 2023:

  • Magic Mike's Last Dance

The trilogy we didn’t know we needed. Plus it’s always nice to support local Tampa boy Channing Tatum. Ladies, get ready for the third and final Magic Mike movie with Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek.

  • Creed 3

Michael B Jordan is starring AND directing in this Rocky spin-off! We know Babs is excited for this one too.

  • Gaurdians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Marvel fans get hyped! In this third expansion of GOTG, we’ll finally meet Adam Warlock played by Will Pouter, which was teased in the last movie.

  • Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

One of the most anticipated sequels finally hits theaters this year! Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was a huge hit in 2023 after it’s long-awaited debut. We don’t know much about the storyline, but we do know that we’ll meet a whole new crew of Spider Characters and welcome back favorites like Jake Johnson’s Peter Parker and Oscar Isaac’s Miguel O’Hara (aka Spider-Man 2099)

  • Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

The fact that this is the first Indiana Jones movie that wasn’t directed by Steven Spielberg makes us very intrigued to see how it will turn out.

  • Oppenheimer

Christopher Nolan’s movies are normally a huge hit so we can’t wait to watch this biopic about the “father of the atomic bomb” starring Cillian Murphy!

  • The Little Mermaid

We don’t care what others say, Halle Bailey is our Ariel!

  • The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Despite the controversy around Chris Pratt voicing Mario, we think this movie looks super cute and fun for the whole family! Anya Taylor-Joy is also on board as Princess Peach, while Jack Black and Seth Rogen will voice Bowser and Donkey Kong, respectively, and Charlie Day will play Luigi.

  • Scream VI

This cult classic is back for 2023. After 2022 Scream hit theaters it was quickly announced that there would be a sequel tying in characters who survived previous films. This movie features rising star Jenna Ortega (Wednesday Addams on Netflix) who is being terrorized by Ghostface in New York City.

  • 80 For Brady

There was a lot of speculation on how Tom Brady spent his offseason, one of the things that kept him busy was his role in 80 For Brady. This movie is inspired by a true story of four best friends who take a wild trip to Super Bowl LI to see their hero (and ours) Tom Brady.
