You Know they say never judge a book by it's cover, but I often do that with restaurants. Sadly, if a place is not appealing to my eyes I don't eat there. Well I have pretty much figured out that I should stop doing that. In this article you will find out about St. Petersburg restaurants that I judged based on appearance but was wrong. Have you ever passed up a restaurant but then later on found out it was fire? What were those restaurants? I will keep adding to this list. Feel free to email me Babs@wild941.com.
Are You Afraid To Try New Restaurants?

Are you a person that is afraid to try a new restaurant? As I stated earlier, I am especially if the appearance is not appeasing on the outside. There is not a specific name for people who are afraid to try new restaurants but there is something called deipnophobia. Apparently deipnophobia affects 30% of Americans. Psychology.com tells us that deipnophobia is "a type of social anxiety disorder wherein the individual feels anxious while dining in public or engaging in dinner conversations."
It has also been reported that 1 in 3 Americans have menu anxiety. Meaning they will look up a restaurants menu online before accepting an invite to go out to eat. Sounds very exhausting right? Im more of a show up and see how it is type of girl. I had no idea that so many people were going though something like this. If you suffer from either one of these disorders feel free to email me at the address above.
St. Petersburg Restaurants That Have Shocked Me
Below you will see the two St. Petersburg restaurants that I judged before actually eating there based off of how it looked on the outside. Im happy that I tried both of these spots and I highly recommend them.
Gateway Subs
Gateway Subs is across from my gym and it never really caught my eye! Im glad I decided to give them a try because their subs are to die for! I recommend the buffalo chicken deli meat wrap! You can even make it a lettuce wrap. I heard they have great breakfast too and I can't wait to try! They have 3 locations in St. Petersburg and 2 in Tampa!
Mullets Fish Camp
I have driven by Mullets Fish Camp so many times and never knew exactly what it was ! It looked like some type of museum that was inside of a house. Turns out I was wrong! It is a great seafood restaurant! I highly recommend the grouper nuggets. It was so fresh and seasoned to perfection. Next time I go, I have to try their wings which everyone loves! Mullets fish camp is located at 3901 6th St S in St. Petersburg.
