Gas prices have skyrocketed across the country, reaching nearly $7 per gallon in places like Los Angeles.
At a Shell gas station in Saint Petersburg near WiLD 94.1, prices were $4.19 a gallon on Tuesday morning.
According to AAA, the current average price of gasoline in Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater costs $4.134 cents, 16 cents more than the Monday average of $3.973. The average price of gasoline in Florida exceeded $4 per gallon on Monday for the first time since 2012.
