It’s extremely hot in Florida, so naturally we must have ice cream! I live in Tampa Bay and was super excited to see that some Ice Cream shops in the area made this list. What’s your go to ice cream flavor? When I was younger it was chocolate, now Im more of a butter pecan girl.

I use to love the chain ice cream shops but the older I get, Im starting to love “mom and pop” local ice cream shops more. The shops that pour love into their ice cream! I want to give a shout out to Royal Scoop in Naples. They made Trip Discover’s list for being one of the best ice cream shops in Florida. I use to go there all the time when I lived in Southwest Florida.

  • Sea Maids Creamery

    Sea Maids Creamery is located in Tampa (4230 N Florida Ave). Ive heard great things about Sea Maids Creamery! Many of my coworkers have gone there, and now I have to try it. Sea Maids also has cookies and pies. They have great flavors like Cookie Monster, Death by Peanut Butter, Pink fruity pebbles ice cream and candied sugar crystals. Sea Maids also has vegan options as well.

  • Super Scoops

    Super Scoops is located on Treasure Island ( 1102 Gulf Blvd)  It’s a small, family operated ice cream shop and they were voted the #3 Ice Cream shop in the United States by trip advisor! They have a variety of ice cream in regular, soft serve, and Italian ice. They also offer banana splits, brownie sundaes, milkshakes and more!

  • Strachan's Ice Cream & Desserts

    Strachan’s is located in Dunedin ( 310 Main St)  and it’s inspired by their love of old-fashioned homemade ice cream. It gives you that feel of a mom and pop shop. It reminds you of desert shops back in the day. Patrons say you should do your best to choose from flavors like Red Velvet cake, Vanilla custard and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.

  • The Candy Kitchen

    The Candy Kitchen is located on Maderia Beach ( 13711 Gulf Blvd)  It’s an Iconic landmark and they’ve been open since the 1950’s. It’s a family owned business which offers an old fashioned experience. Their old fashioned ice cream will give you nostalgic vibes.

     

  • Hudson Beach Ice Cream Parlor

    Hudson Beach Ice Cream Parlor is located at 6930 Clark Street. It’s a family owned business with over 40 different flavors to choose from. Their menu also has sugar-free and low-fat options. They even have a gourmet hot dog menu.
