Death is something I hate thinking about! Some of us have a will in place but have you ever thought about what city you would die in? “This is the worst Florida city to die in.” Before looking can you guess the city? You will see below. I live in St. Petersburg and we did make the list, but we are not the worst!
Losing a loved one hurts so bad
Up until 2021, I had never lost someone that I was really close to. My grandmother died in April of 2021 and not only did I lose A family member but also a best friend. This was the first time that I really had to deal with a funeral home, a family members will, etc. Rest in peace Grandma Babs, I will always miss you.
How They Determined the worst cities to die in
To Create this list Policy Genius analyzed 100 of the largest metro areas in the United States. Several factors were determined. Those factors include the cost and availability of funeral services and the availability of end-of-life care. This index includes the following seven factors:

Probate shortcuts: Many states have made the procedures for settling your estate simple. This is as long as you estate is worth less than a certain value.

Funeral costs: The median cost of a funeral is $7,848, but varies by region. It can be as low as $6,888 to as high as $8,500.

Funeral services: They calculated the ratio of funeral homes and other funeral service establishments to 100,000 residents in each metro area.

Palliative care providers: The number of palliative care providers within a 25-mile radius of the city’s geographic center.

Green burial cemeteries: The number of green burial cemeteries in the city.

4- or 5-star hospices: The number of hospice care providers serving the city that received high ratings in a family caregiver survey.

4- or 5-star hospitals per 100,000 residents: The number of highly rated hospitals.
