Florida Man Can’t Stand The Heat While Hiding From Police In Attic
Can’t stand the heat? They typically advise you to get out the kitchen, but in this case if you can’t stand the heat you best get out of the attic.
A Florida man was recently busted after trying to evade arrest by hiding out in his attic. Turns out, it gets pretty hot up there and he had enough. The incident happened in Palm Coast, Florida.
Florida Man Hiding In Attic Can’t Stand The Heat
If you’re going to hide from the police (it’s not smart and they usually will find you), it’s best to place yourself somewhere safe and comfortable so you can wait out the situation. It sounds like this guy picked his place to hide quite poorly as it was very hot up there. You’d think as a Florida resident he would know about the weather and temperature in the state–especially during the extremely hot summer months.
According to CW 34, Michael Allison was wanted on a felony violation of probation warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license when police saw him enter his home on Piedmont Drive. After knocking to try to get him to come out, they ended up having to enter the home to search for him. Eventually, they discovered he was hiding out in the attic and came down roughly 30 minutes later extremely dehydrated, per CW 34. He was apprehended, treated at the hospital for his dehydration, and then taken to the Flagler County Jail.
Flagler County Sheriff Staly tells CW 34, “This guy decided to try and hide in the attic, during a Florida summer. If you’re a criminal in Flagler County, there’s nowhere to hide from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. I hope he enjoyed is attic sauna but now he’s in the Green Roof Inn. I commend our deputies for talking him out of a hot attic peacefully before he hurt himself in the heat.”
You can see Allison’s mugshot provided by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office below. Again, not the best place to hide out if you have to! At that point, I’m sure a cell was more comfortable and welcomed.
He looks much more hydrated in his mugshot than I imagine he did at the time of his arrest. It looks like he got rehydrated at the hospital. Hiding out in a hot Florida attic was not the best choice!
