Everything And Everywhere Seems to be so expensive. I live in St. Petersburg and in my opinion, it cost a pretty penny to live here. I got lucky and found a sweet lady who I rent from privately. Florida is a big state and when moving here people think of the big places like Orlando, Miami and Tampa. Those cities can definitely be expensive. On the other hand there are many places to live live in Florida that are more affordable.  Property Club came out with a list of the 10 cheapest places to live in Florida. The places on this list still offer the safety and qualities of a more expensive location. For this list we are going to say “most affordable.” Below are the top Five most affordable places to live in Florida. Number one on this list is shocking, because it is a big city!

  • 5. Dunedin

    Dunedin comes in at number 5 on this list. Dunedin has great schools and a low crime rate! The median cost of a home in Dunedin is about $340,000 but the market is constantly changing. Many homes sell around $245,000.  If you are renting you can expect to pay about $1,100 a month for a one bedroom. Almost everything In Dunedin is below the Florida average.

     

  • 4. Dade City

    Dade City comes in at number 4 on this list.  The median cost to live Dade City is about $179,500. This falls below the  Florida and the national average. If you are renting you will pay about $1,372 for a one-bedroom apartment. Dade City is a safe place to live!

  • 3. Gainesville

    The median cost in Gainesville is about $210,000 which falls below the Florida and national averages.  A one bedroom apartment in this city is about $1,100 a month. Gainesville also has a great Job market especially since the University of Florida is located there. 

  • 2. Cape Coral

    I use to live in Cape Coral and I loved it. On top of it being affordable, It’s also one of the safest cities in Florida. The median cost in Cape Coral is about $290,700.  A one bedroom in this city will cost about $1300.There are fewer taxes in this area.

  • 1. Jacksonville

    The cheapest place to live in Florida is Jacksonville. It’s also one of the biggest cities in the United States. Weird right? Usually big cities are expensive. The median cost of a home in Jacksonville is about $260,000, which is $60,000 below the national average. A one bedroom apartment will cost you about $975 in Jacksonville.  You can live a very comfortable life for around $1,900 a month in this city.
