Some of our greatest entertainers died right here in Florida. We as fans build connections with these people through there art/music and when they pass away, it’s almost like we lost a family member. Before I moved to St. Petersburg I lived in Naples. I had no idea Donna Summers lived there until she died. She was one of the greats! May she rest in peace.

Even though he was not my favorite entertainer, I was affected by the death of Young Dolph. I have followed his wife on social media for many years and when he died, I was heartbroken. It was very hard watching his family have to mourn his death. It was almost as if he was one of my family members. He took care of his entire family plus many in his community. The entire city of Memphis was devastated when he passed away. May he rest in peace and I will always be praying for his kids who now have go grow up without a father.
Singers Who Died Tragically In Florida
Some of our favorite singers have died tragically right here in Florida. Some have died from an illness like lung/skin cancer and others were fatally shot. Bob Marley was one of the greatest reggae singers of all time. He is loved globally and was taken away from us way to soon. In 1981 Bob died at a Miami Hospital after his melanoma spread to his lungs and brain.

Donna Summers is a disco legend and she sadly died in 2012. Reports tell us she died in Naples after battling lung cancer.
XXX Tentacion
XXX Tentacion was loved by many in the rap world. In 2018 he was fatally shot after being robbed. This happened in Deerfield Beach as he was leaving Riva Motorsports Motorcycle & Marine Superstore. He did not know the suspects and in 2023 they were all sentenced to life in prison.
Christina Grimmie
Christina Grimmie was a popular youtuber and singer! She was once on the Voice and placed 3rd place. Even though she placed third she still went off and was signed to Lil Wayne’s record label. In 2016 she was murdered after one of her shows in Orlando Florida. The suspect was her stalker and he ended up killing himself as well.
Davy Jones
Davy Jones was an actor and band member of the Monkeys! He sadly died of a heart attack in 2012. Reports say he died after being taken to a hospital in Stuart.
