What’s a Tampa Bay Lightning Yard Sale Like?
How’s your spring cleaning going? Having a yard sale? So are the Bolts. A Tampa Bay Lightning yard sale is coming up Saturday (May 18, 2024). Well, they call it a Locker Room sale. But the stuff will be sold in their front yard at Amalie Arena. We hoped the sale would be a few weeks from now, but unfortunately the season is over for the Lightning and it’s time for the Amalie Arena crew to clean everything out.
The Bolts’ annual locker room sale will be on the Pepsi Porch at Amalie Arena Saturday. It’s your chance to buy game-used equipment and player-worn apparel. It starts bright and early at 10AM, but Stephen Buck with the team tells me you want to get there earlier than that to get the first pick of the best stuff.
What do they sell at a Tampa Bay Lightning yard sale?
Stephen says the most popular thing every year are the hockey sticks. The higher profile the player, the higher the price. So if you want a Stamkos stick, you might pay a bit more, but he estimates most hockey sticks will go for $100 to $250.
Other stuff you might find for sale include shin and elbow pads, helmets, and even skates. But it’s more than just equipment. Players are issued apparel for the locker room like hats, shorts, sweatshirts, and pull overs. So even if you don’t play hockey or want to buy equipment, there might be something for you. Stephen says he’s even seen team issued sneakers at the locker room sale.
What are the lines like?
Last year, the line extended all the way back to the parking garage so getting to Thunder Alley is highly suggested. They let in in about 25 to 50 Tampa Bay Lightning fans at a time. Last year the line remained long all the way through the event which wraps up at 2pm.
