Jake Paul Defeats Mike Perry In Front of Sold Out Amalie Arena

The fights were put together just a month ago, but Amalie Arena was sold out last night. Social media star Jake Paul and MMA fighter Mike Perry headlined the card in front of a crowd of over 17,000. The main event got underway at about 1AM. Jake Paul had his way with Mike Perry for most of the bout. Perry was tough and hung in taking shot after shot, but after getting knocked down for the third time in the 6th round, the ref called the fight. Up next for Jake Paul? It's still Mike Tyson on his mind. In the ring after the fight, Paul told the Amalie Arena crowd that "This is my sport now." Paul placed Tyson with Muhammad Ali as the two best to ever do it, but went on to say "You're a legend. But I'm going to take your throne. Paul also went on to call out UFC champ Alex Pereira. In other bouts on the card at Amalie Arena last night, Amanda Serrano defeated Stevie Morgan in the women's super lightweight division. Lucas Bahdi delivered a wild 4 punch knockout to defeat H20 Ashton Sylve in a lightweight bout to hand Sylve his first defeat. Corey Marksman defeated Tony Aguilar to end his undefeated streak in another lightweight fight. And veteran Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. defeated Uriah Hall in the opening bout of the main card in a cruiserweight fight. Celebrities in attendance included Logan Paul's brother and current WWE wrestler Logan Paul. Also getting a mixed crowd reaction was Tampa WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. When Hogan's arrival was shown on the big screen above the ring, some fans booed while others broke out in a USA chant. Hogan earlier this week was a featured speaker at the Republican National Convention where he proclaimed his support for Donald Trump.
