To celebrate Black History Month, I wanted to highlight some black owned restaurants that you should check out in Florida. Shoutout to Authentic Florida for creating the full list, and including restaurants that are right here in the Tampa Bay Area. Ray’s Vegan Soul food which made this list is 10 minutes from where I live in St. Petersburg. I literally eat there almost once a week.
Authentic Florida updated this list in January of 2024. They celebrate all kinds of local and independent businesses but for this list they wanted to highlight black-owned restaurants in Florida. They want to continue doing this and will update beyond black history month. The team over at Authentic Florida says creating this list was a fun assignment because they love finding locally owned and delicious restaurants throughout the Sunshine State.
Best Black Owned Restaurants Here In The Tampa Bay Area
When I first moved here, I didn’t really hear about many black-owned restaurants. After the pandemic, I started hearing about them more! I have tried many of them locally and fell in love with the food. As I stated earlier, one of my favorite places to eat at is Rays Vegan Soul Food. By the way Im not even vegan.
7th and Grove and Coasis also have great food. A place that I have yet to try is the Outside Kitchen. I heard that their food is to die for. I will do my best to go and try out these restaurants before the end of 2024. If you are looking for a way to celebrate Black History Month, I suggest you try out some of these restaurants.
