I live in St. Petersburg and have yet to have my Kia Stolen. I hope it never happens, I love my Kia! While it is the most stolen car in New York, it is not in Florida. The National Insurance Crime Bureau put out a report this year that list which vehicles have the highest theft rates nationwide. Can you guess what car is the most stolen in Florida? It’s a big car and I had no idea that people are just easily able to steal these. What’s shocking is that according to NICB’s report, full size trucks have the highest theft rates.
Apparently vehicle theft rates have soared since the start of COVID-19. Whats good is that more than 85% of the cars that were stolen in 2022 were recovered. You must keep your doors locked, and never leave the car running. These are small steps you can take to prevent your car from being stolen.
Also stop leaving valuables in the car. When you leave a purse or money on the seats, that persuades thieves to break in and steal your stuff, or worst take you car.

I have never, but it came close. When I was partying in Ybor one night, someone actually broke into my car. The door handle was missing, also the gears were broken. Kia’s are easy to steal and I believe they only left because the parking lot attendant was coming.
I felt very violated after the fact. I can’t imagine what that feeling would have been like if someone actually took my car. According to the NICB President David Glawe ,“Vehicle theft disrupts lives, causes financial hardship and undermines community safety.”

4. 2021 Chevrolet Pickup (Full Size)
Coming in at number 4 on the list is a 2021 Chevrolet Pickup full size truck. This truck was stolen a total of 992 times in Florida ( 2022)
3. 2015 Nissan Altima
2015 Nissan Altima is the third most stolen car in Florida. It was stolen 1K times in 2022.
2. 2021 Honda Accord
2021 Honda Accord is the 2nd most stolen car in Florida. It was stolen 1,003 times in 2022.

The most stolen car in Florida is a 2006 Ford Pickup Truck ( full size) It was stolen 2,030 times in 2022.
