We’re here! September 2023! It’s a month of change, joy, and moving on. It shows us how beautiful nature’s cycles are, how exciting new starts are, and how rich cultural diversity is. September has something for everyone: enjoying the last bits of summer or you can’t wait for fall to come. There’s a lot happening in Tampa this September! So, let’s enjoy this month as a time of change and growth, recognizing its beauty and importance in our lives.

September is the start of a new season. As the summer sun starts to go down and the leaves start to turn bright colors, you can tell that a new season is coming. We love this month, which is often seen as a bridge between the warm weather of summer and the cool, cozy weather of fall. Let’s talk about the many things that happen in September, from weather changes to cultural events, and why it’s a month worth enjoying.

Those are nice to think about… but what can we look forward to in September 2023 in our daily lives?

Here are a few things to look forward to in September: The NFL season starts next Thursday . . . Bucs fans will have to wait till week 2 on September 17 to see them at Raymond James Stadium. LOTS of big TV shows come back . . . and the first day of fall is September 23rd. Tampa is going to be having a busy September with lots of exciting events and new restaurants!

Let’s take a look at some September 2023 highlights to come!

  • Football is back!

    The NFL season kicks off next Thursday with the Chiefs hosting the Lions . . . there’s lots of college football too . . . and tennis fans have the U.S. Open through September 10th. Namely our Tampa Bay Bucs taking on the Minnesota Vikings for the season opener on Sunday September 10th! Go Bucs!

  • Big Movies In Theaters

    “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” comes out September 8th.  “The Expendables 4” hits theaters September 22nd.  The horror movie “Saw X” will be released on September 29th.

  • New Restaurants in Tampa

    Beacon

    Tampa’s tallest rooftop bar is opening in September! The Beacon is located on the 27th floor of JW Marriot and has a 360 degree view of downtown Tampa.

    Cinnaholic South Tampa

    A new dessert heaven is opening up in South Tampa soon! They’ve posted on socials that they’re hiring which leads us to believe that we could see an opening date in September

    Kura Sushi

    This authentic Japanese cuisine is presented by technology-driven dining. Shortly after opening in Orlando, Florida, Kara Sushi has signed for its first location in the Tampa Market, at 214 Westshore Plaza.

  • First Day Of Fall

    The first day of fall will be on September 23rd.  If you want to get specific, the Autumn Equinox occurs at 2:50 A.M. Eastern that day.

    Oh, and the new iPhone is coming out…

  • New TV Show Season

    A TON of TV shows are back, including “Name That Tune”, “I Can See Your Voice”, and “The Masked Singer” on Fox. “The Voice” on NBC, and “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” on CBS.

    There’s also the premiere of “American Horror Story: Delicate, Part One” on FX.  That’s the one with Kim Kardashian.  New seasons of “Sex Education” and “Love Is Blind” are back on Netflix.  And the latest “Walking Dead” spinoff, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”, hits AMC on September 10th.

  • September Holiday Highlights

    Besides Labor Day on 9/4,  there’s Beer Lovers Day on the 7th . . . Stand Up to Cancer Day on the 8th . . . Talk Like a Pirate Day on the 19th . . . and the 29th is National Coffee Day.

  • Hockey (Almost) Begins!

    Hockey fans can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Preseason kicks off in September and Bolts fans can get a glimpse of this years team at the home games on September 26 and 29.
