Grocery bills are super high right now and it's getting a bit ridiculous! Did you know grocery bills can vary in different states? New research shows that the average American household spends over $1,000 per month on groceries. According to HelpAdvisor, the average family spends about $270.21 per week. The cost goes up when you have children in your household. The study found that households with children, on average spend $331.94 a week at the store which is 41% higher than households without children.

Weekly grocery prices vary across the country. This study found that California is most expensive state with the highest grocery bills. If you live in California, your average bill is $297.72 per week. Nevada comes in a close second place, spending roughly $294.76 a week at store. The top five most expensive also includes Mississippi, Washington and Florida. You might be wondering, which states have the most affordable groceries? Wisconsin roughly spends $76 less than California. Their average bill is $221.46 but this goes for most of the Midwest. If you live in Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan and Indiana you're most likely spending under $240 at the store per week.

The average weekly grocery store bill is a whooping $327.89. That's about 14% higher than Florida’s statewide average making it extremely expensive. Florida isn't all bad though offering less taxes than most states. Plus it's absolutely beautiful with all their famous beaches and wonderful weather.
