Volunteer at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is always looking for volunteers to help care for thousands of animals a year. They have a number of opportunities to help including long-term volunteers, short-term volunteers, foster parents and volunteer groups.
Long-term volunteers must be willing to volunteer at least once a month for 6 or more months and complete a four-hour new volunteer training program.
Short-term volunteering is for anyone who only wants to volunteer once or for less than 6 months and minimal training is required.
If you have extra space in your home, fostering a pet may be for you. You must be at least 18-years-old or have the application filled out by your parent or guardian.
If your office or local organization would like to volunteer, look into the Group Volunteering program. The Humane Society of Tampa Bay welcomes groups of up to 10 people to join us each morning to help us get our shelter and animals ready for the day.
Are you a teenager and need volunteer hours for school? Check out their Teen Program. It is open to students ages 12 through 15 and consists of 8 weekly meetings.
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay also offers a fourth program if you need to complete court-ordered community service hours or hours for a diversionary program.
