Dating App Starting To Ban Filtered Photos
The dating app, Plenty of Fish, wants to provide a more open and honest experience for users.
They are banning the use of all filtered photos on profiles.
Plenty of Fish will conduct an audit of their 70 million images on their platform by removing any image they consider to be overly filtered.
Newly uploaded photos will also be reviewed.
One of the main filters they are targeting is lens filters such as the one’s used on Snapchat. The filter allows users to hide blemishes, look thinner and more.
The change comes after Plenty of Fish surveyed 2,000 single people who said they wanted a more authentic dating experience on online dating apps.
