Penguins Roam ZooTampa During COVID-19 Closure

The penguins at ZooTampa got a special treat during the COVID-19 closure, they were able to explore the zoo.

ZooTampa took to social media to brighten our day with the little critters walking around the zoo, visiting other animals. Doesn’t this make you want to work at the zoo now?!

Penguin Adventure!

We loved the idea Shedd Aquarium so we decided to have a little penguin adventure of our own with our two African penguins Tiziri and Palmira. Who would have guessed these two would make such great animal care staff!

Wellington Meets the Sea Otters

Wellington meets the sea otters! 🦦🐧 Wellington the rockhopper continued his field trip around the aquarium by visiting the sea otter habitat. At 32 years old, Wellington is no spring chicken (and not just because he’s a penguin!) He is more than double the life expectancy of a rockhopper! Thanks to laser therapy and cataract surgeries, he’s “still got it” and can enjoy going on enriching adventures. Where's Wellington going next? Stay tuned to find out!

Tyson Visits the Penguins

The penguins aren’t the only animals exploring the aquarium! 🐧 Tyson the prehensile-tailed porcupine took a field trip and visited the penguin habitat, watching the penguins while munching on a hard biscuit—something that helps keep his constantly-growing incisors at a healthy length.
