There are many things to think about before deciding to open your home to a new furry family member. Once you have decided that a shelter cat is the right fit for you and your family here are four things to consider:
- Do some research to find the kind of cat that is right for you.
- Visit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay website to see if they have a cat(s) that you may be interested in. The website is updated every morning – click here >>
- Visit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and meet with the cat(s) that interest you.
- Meet with an adoption coordinator to finalize paperwork and go over any questions.
Finally, you can take your new family member home and start your life together.
Cat adoption fees range from $50 for kittens 3 months and under to $15 for senior cats.
If you are looking for a working cat they are adopted at no-charge to families with barns, outbuildings, sheds, garages, etc. who would like a cat to help with pest control and/or keep farm animals company.
