Nicki Minaj Is Nominated In The Grammy’s Rap Category
The Grammys Award show is set for Sunday Feb. 5th, 2023, from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Last week was quite a week when the Grammy’s dropped some info. First, Silk Sonic removed their album “An Evening with Silk Sonic” from the ballad for this year, then Nicki Minaj was fuming at the fact that her hit record “Super Freaky Girl” was put into the “Pop” category and not the “Rap” category.
While going through her frustrations of this situation, she decided to mention Latto’s “Big Energy” record, which she stated should also be listed under the “Pop” category. This started an uproar between the two rappers. To make a really long story short, Latto has always looked up to Nicki Minaj. She used to have a Barbie chain and would wear pink wigs. In a recent interview, she stated that basically “Nicki Minaj was always running the game, but now with more platforms it’s giving other females the opportunity to flourish too.” It’s believed that this is where this all started, and this is when Nicki Minaj was starting to look at her sideways. From then on, there were many tweets going back and forth between them and each throwing personal jabs at each other. They then decided to get on the phone, to which nothing got resolved, and Latto told Nicki that she’s going to “support her from the sidelines.”
Despite Nicki Minaj being upset because of Super Freaky Girl being nominated in the “Pop” category, it is actually shown that Nicki Minaj is nominated in the “Rap” category with her record “Do We Have a Problem”.
