Ludacris Is Getting Protested in Orlando
Ludacris is finding himself in a bit of an uncomfortable position, the Atlanta rapper turned actor is being protested over an upcoming performance. Luda, real name Chris Bridges , is set to headline Sea World’s Full Seven Seas Food Festival Concert series, and some animal rights activists aren’t happy. The Orlando theme park is set to have him perform on February 26.
PETA supporters are planning to protest outside of Sea World, some will be wearing crying dolphin outfits. Tracy Reiman who serves as the PETA Executive Vice President said, “PETA will be there fast and furious to let the public know that supporting marine prisons is ludicrous.”
Sea World has faced significant backlash from animal rights organizations, especially after the 2013 documentary Black Fish which highlighted the animals being held in small enclosures and outside of their natural habitat.
Though the concert series already kicked off with a live performance from En Vogue, the group was not protested by any animal rights groups. However, this is not the first time the Orlando theme park has drawn criticism from PETA and related groups. In 2018 the 90’s boy band Hansen was the target for the organization’s anger after being set to hit the stage at the same concert series.
The protests don’t seem to be slowing down the momentum of the shows put on by the park. The concerts which are free with admission to the park have a slate of artists performing such as Hanson (again), The Commodores, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and more artists to be announced soon. READ MORE
