Beyoncé Highlights Three Sides In SirDavis Ad: Fans React
Beyoncé has unveiled a new promo video for her whisky brand, SirDavis American Whisky, celebrating both the spirit and the star herself. The ad was shared on Beyoncé’s Instagram on Sunday afternoon (September 22), a little under three weeks after the whisky became available for purchase online and in stores, and about a month after the pre-order period began.
Set to the soundtrack of Betty Davis’ “They Say I’m Different,” the video begins with Beyoncé getting her hair done for a photo shoot, before stepping out with a fresh look. Later, she is seen relaxing in a dressing room, aboard a jet, and at a ranch, dressed casually in jeans and a tank top. Throughout the video, the words “The Muse,” “The Founder,” and “The Woman” flash on the screen against an off-white background.
Fans React to Beyoncé’s SirDavis Whisky Commercial
Fans were quick to speculate about hints of a possible upcoming album. One fan wrote, “Yall if act 3 is Blues/Rock&Roll… it makes sense for that to come before another tour because she can literally combine those!!!” Another confidently posted, “Act iii rock confirmed.” Others joked, “Dropping visuals for everything but her music, come on now BEY!”
On the other hand, some commenters brought up her husband’s rumored connection to Diddy, who has recently been in the news. One comment read, “Sooooo we all just gonna act like her and Jay Z aren’t on the diddy freak off list?” Another added, “Not her posting to take the attention off her husband being DRAGGED!!! Bey girl not rn.” Many simply commented, “She knows.”
Beyoncé announced the launch of SirDavis in partnership with Moët Hennessy in August, with the whisky line holding deep ties to her family history. The brand honors her paternal great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, a farmer and moonshiner in the American South during Prohibition.
“I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whisky and wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling,” she said in a statement. “When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whisky was fated. SirDavis is a way for me to pay homage to him, uniting us through a new shared legacy.”
“In partnering with Moët Hennessy, we have crafted a delicious American whisky that respects tradition but also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category. You can taste it better than I could ever tell you — welcome, SirDavis.”
As a tribute to her roots, SirDavis is finished, blended, bottled, and headquartered in her hometown of Houston — marking Moët Hennessy’s first spirits brand developed entirely in the U.S. Each bottle, priced at $89, is now available nationwide.
