Recently, the Tampa Bay area has seen a huge difference when booking reservations! It’s become almost impossible to find reservations the same week you want to visit them. Now, you’ve got to book way in advance these days! Many popular restaurants are asking you to put down a credit card and make a deposit for a reservations. And if you’re a no show watch out! Some are may charge you a hefty fee!
Tampa Restaurants That Charge A Deposit For A Reservation:
This change actually started after Bern’s restaurant started an investigation into reservation selling site. They discovered that their reservations were actually being sold on a separate website for hundreds of dollars. Bern’s launched a new policy change that will hopefully help manage with their hard-to-get reservations. When booking a reservation you will now be required to use a credit card in order to book. If you’re a no-show or cancel your reservations in less than 24 hours you’ll be charged. You will now have to pay a $25 per person fee that will benefit the local nonprofit Feeding Tampa Bay.
Because of their new policy change most fancy restaurants followed suit and now it’s common to have to put a deposit down on a reservation. This new change is happened after Meredith from Wild 94.1 wrote an article about a third-party website buying and selling reservations at some of the most famous restaurants in town including Bern’s Steak House. Although the reservation trading website is still selling them, Bern’s says the issue is being “legally investigated.”
A press release from AppointmentTrader.com says, “Their website was built to make it easier for consumers to trade unused restaurant reservations, theme park tickets or government appointments and allow other consumers to get a reservation or appointment at the place and time they need it.” The following restaurants listed you’ll be charged for a deposit to make a reservation and if you cancel within 24 hours they keep the money.
