One of A$AP Rocky’s biggest hits is his 2013 song “Fashion Killa” which is an ode to global fashion designers and how he has successfully meshed his love for clothing with music. The track is off of his 2013 album Long. Live. ASAP with the visual to the record infamously featuring Rihanna. The pair welcomed their first child together back in May.
On the track, A$AP name drops Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, and more. He is not just talking the talk either. A lot of the brands he name-dropped in the track as well as on “RAF” he has worked with. The rapper modeled alongside Cara Delevigne and Jourdan Dunne in DKNY’s 2014 campaign and in 2016, Dior Homme made him the face of their fall campaign.
More recently in the rapper’s fashion quests, the Harlem native along with his creative design company AWGE and Pacsun launched a fashion campaign with Mercedes Benz back in March.
“I’ve been working with Mercedes since 2016, so the launch of this partnership of a collaborative product is a proud moment for me,” Rocky said per Peak. “To be able to incorporate my relationship with Mercedes and my partnership with Pacsun to release select items from the first drop, echoes my original sentiments of creating premium products based on my love for nostalgia and heritage brands that are accessible at different price points.”
The collection includes bomber jackets, sweatpants, long-sleeved t-shirts, hoodies and hats. Fans can make an outfit head-to-toe with the collection or find what piece best suits their personal style and make their own outfit.
Rocky has worked with Pacsun four times prior to this current partnering deal. This is his second clothing collaboration with the brand under the retailer. The rapper has also worked with action sports, footwear, and clothing brand, Vans which he has been photographed frequently in.
Rocky’s contribution to blending the fashion world and hip-hop has differentiated the rapper from his peers.
