Ashanti Stars In Subway Musical ‘Stuck’
Ashanti will be on the silver screen soon in her new film Stuck.
The R&B singer, actress, and producer executively produced the musical about “six unlucky strangers” who are united when their Manhattan-bound train comes to a halt in the New York City subway.
Ashanti stars in the movie alongside Giancarlo Esposito and Amy Madigan, among others. While the passengers wait to be saved, they end up singing about their problems.
“We’re putting a positive spin on things and looking at the glass half full versus half empty, and we tried to paint a positive picture of all those scary moments,” Ashanti told EW. “It shows that we’ve all gone through situations where we may not be thinking the best while going through situations with other people, dealing with racism, feeling different, or feeling frustrated in the moment.”
Stuck hits theaters on April 19.
