Madonna Loses Appeal To Stop Auction Of Breakup Letter From Tupac
Madonna recently lost an appeal to stop the sale of an old breakup letter that the late Tupac Shakur previously wrote to the singer from jail.
On Tuesday (June 4), a judge made the ruling in court, according to TMZ. A New York State appeals court ruled that Madonna can’t attempt to make claims against the art consultant or GottaHaveRockandRoll.com, the online auction house that’s trying to sell the letter.
In 2018, Madonna filed a lawsuit in an attempt to stop the sale of the letter where Tupac confessed that he ended his sexual relationship with the iconic singer because she’s white, which the appeal stems from.
The case was previously tossed by a judge, citing a release that Madonna signed in 2004. The judge’s ruling was upheld by the appellate court in a 5-0 decision.
The letter that Tupac wrote will officially be up for auction in July 2019.
