Lindsay Lohan Reportedly Losing MTV Reality Show, Mykonos Night Club
Lindsay Lohan’s MTV reality show, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, is not being renewed by the network, according to Page Six. And it’s all because there simply wasn’t enough drama.
The show, which followed Lohan opening a beach nightclub in Mykonos, premiered in January to what Page Six reports as “decent” ratings. But almost immediately, the reviews slammed the show as being “tedious” and “vapid.”
Producers reportedly felt that the show, which focused more on Lohan’s staff than her actual personal life, simply didn’t have “enough drama.”
“They wanted ‘breakdowns,'” a source told Page Six. “That’s not where [Lohan] is at with her life anymore. Their personal business doesn’t need to be aired on television; it’s already in the papers anyway.”
Producers reportedly wanted season two to feature more on Lohan, mother Dina and sister Ali Lohan. But the deal is said to have fallen through.
Lohan’s rep confirmed that she will not be participating in the second season of the show.
Worse, the nightclub, which only opened in May of last year, appears to have been closed as well.
“A friend had reservations this week, and the club just called and said that they will not be opening this season,” a local source told Page Six.
Calls to the club were also not returned.
