Summer Walker Says She’s ‘Never Making Another Song After 2020’
Summer Walker recently made an announcement that might be disheartening to her fans.
On Monday (Feb. 10) the “Playing Games” singer took to her Instagram story and stated that she will stop making music after this year.
“I’m deadass never making another song after 2020,” Walker wrote. Last year, Walker released her debut album, Over It, which has since been certified gold by the RIAA.
In addition to her debut album, Walker has released a mixtape, Last Day of Summer (2018), and an EP entitled Clear (2019).
The Atlanta native has also made guest appearances on tracks with artists, including Rick Ross, Davido, Kash Doll, Moneybagg Yo, and Justin Bieber.
Last year, twenty out of 29 dates on her Over It tour were cancelled. She canceled the dates due to her social anxiety.
Walker also won her first Soul Train Music Award in 2019, and she received a slew of backlash from fans due to her short speech and was accused of her social anxiety being faux.
It’s currently unclear why Walker has decided to no longer make music after 2020.
