Tampa Area Businesses: Who’s Open, Who’s Closed, Who’s Limiting Hours & Services
As the CDC is looking for ways to slow down the coronavirus spread, many Tampa area companies are changing the way they do business to keep customers safe. So you can be prepared, here’s our running list. You can see our list of cancelled or postponed events here.
Most Tampa area malls are now reopened, although some stores have not reopened yet.
Grab a bite to eat at Armature Works
Pinellas County beaches reopened May 4th. Beaches are also open in Manatee County, Hernando County, and Sarasota County
On April 14th, Mayor Rick Kriseman announced he will be closing tennis courts, dog parks, pickle ball courts and skate parks later that week.
Parks open June 5 at reduced capacity. Guests must go through a temperature check and wear a face mask.
Over 300 Waffle House locations nationwide are temporarily closing, including a handful in the Tampa Bay area. Most will remain open for takeout.
All Tampa parks, dog parks, beaches and year-round pools are open. Certain areas in the parks will remain closed and residents will be required to practice social distancing and gatherings of more than 10 people will not be prohibited.
The parks remain closed, but some retail stores and restaurants are open at Disney Springs.
The company has announced Panera Grocery, a new service where custmers can "purchase high-demand pantry items such as milk, bread and fresh produce alongside their favorite Panera soup, salad or sandwich." Panera Grocery is available at participating cafes nationwide.
Bed Bath & Beyond stores are closed.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino reopened May 21.
Stores are closing at 8pm instead of 9pm. Customers wait outside in a line to keep from overcrowding in the store.
Walmart stores are open.
Publix locations close at 8pm to give employees more time to sanitize the stores and restock shelves. A senior shopping hour is available Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 7.
Bars can reopen at 50% capacity indoors and full capacity outdoors.
Stores close at 9p daily. They are also reserving the first hour of shopping each Wednesday to support the elderly and people with underlying health concerns.
Dining areas are closed, but drive thru service is available.
Dunkin says they're limiting their service to drive-thru, carry out and delivery.
Sephora is among quite a few mall retailers that will close during the pandemic. Sephora says they will be closed. Abercrombie & Fitch, Macy's, Disney stores, Gap, J. Crew, Lush, Nike, Bath & Bodyworks, Nordstrom, REI, T-Mobile, and Ulta are all closed.
Movie theaters can reopen at reduced capacity with social distancing in mind.
It's a blast from the past and with the current situation, drive-ins in Tampa, Dade City, Ruskin and Lakeland are thriving!
Most fast food restaurants have returned to full operation, no longer just offering drive thru service.
In store seating areas are closed, but take out and drive thru remain open.
Reopening June 11. They'll be closed Tuesday and Wednesday to start.

MOSI, along with The Glazer Children’s Museum, Tampa Museum of Art, Henry B. Plant Museum and The Florida Aquarium are closed.
Tampa Theatre is doing "virtual screenings" until they can reopen.
They are open. Advance tickets & reservations are not required but are highly recommended to guarantee entry.
Kennedy Space Center reopened May 28.
Columbia Restaurants locations have temporarily closed, but they are serving meals to staff. They are also offering a bonus to those who buy gift cards online.
