Florida Governor Threatens To Withhold Funding From School Districts With Mask Mandates
COVID-19 is not slowing down in the state of Florida! So far we have 10,207 people hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 cases according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
These high numbers and hospitalizations come as schools prepare to open but some school districts are not onboard with Gov. Ron DeSantis signing an executive order for schools to be open for in-person learning and cannot require masks for students.
In Broward and Gadsden counties announced that they would be making masks a requirement for all students. That was until they found out that all their funding would be withheld if they didn’t comply with the executive order.
Well, the counties changed their mind and now they’re ‘reviewing’ the executive order to make a different decision about the mandatory face-covering.
