Grimes and Whistleblower Chelsea Manning Reportedly Dating
After Grimes revealed she had a second child with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, she updated fans with her current relationship status.
Since her interview with Vanity Fair, Grimes, 33, took to twitter to “clarify a few things” since the release of the April 2022 cover story. As we earlier reported, the “Kill V. Maim” singer welcomed daughter Exa Dark Sideræl Musk last December via surrogate making 22-month-old son X Æ A-12 an older brother.
The musician also opened up about her split from Musk, 50, last September after three years together, telling the outlet that she and Musk were back together. “There’s no real word for it,” she said. “I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid. We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time…. We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it.”
She added that she and Musk are happy together, telling the outlet, “This is the best it’s ever been. … We just need to be free.” She told the outlet that they plan to have more children too: “We’ve always wanted at least three or four.”
Since the article’s release yesterday (March 10), Grimes took to Twitter to clear things up. “Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article haha,” she wrote. “But he’s my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now, I think Devin wrote that part of the story rly well. Sique – peace out.”

Page Six reported today (March 11) that Grimes is now dating infamous leaker Chelsea Manning. Manning had even apparently moved in with Grimes post-breakup in Austin. “They’re getting serious,” a source told the outlet. “They U-Hauled it. They’ve been living together in Austin.”
The former US soldier, for her part, made headlines in the early 2010s for leaking hundreds of thousands of documents to WikiLeaks. She was sentenced to 35 years in prison after being found guilty of 20 crimes, including six violations of the Espionage Act. In January 2017, President Barack Obama commuted Manning’s remaining prison sentence after she had served seven years and attempted suicide multiple times.
