Kodak Black: Arrest Warrant Issued For Rapper
An arrest warrant has been issued for Kodak Black who authorities said violated his bail conditions when he failed a drug test earlier this month, per local news outlet WFLA.
According to the Broward County Clerk of Courts, Kodak Black, born Bill Kapri, violated the conditions of his pretrial release after he failed to submit a sample to a random drug test on Feb. 3. Five days later, he tested positive for fentanyl according to court documents obtained by the outlet.
In July 2022, the “ZEZE” rapper was arrested for trafficking in oxycodone and possession of a controlled substance. Florida Highway Patrol said that “troopers pulled Kapri over because he was driving a purple SUV with window tints that appeared darker than the legal limit.” In addition to the window tints, troopers claimed they detected the smell of marijuana. They searched the SUV and found a small clear bag with 31 white tablets and almost $75,000 in cash. The tablets were later identified as oxycodone.
In addition to what was found in the vehicle, troopers also learned that the rapper’s vehicle tag and driver’s license were both expired.
Black had pleaded not guilty to the trafficking charge per the Associated Press.
This is not Kodak’s first run-in with the law. Back in 2021, President Donald Trump commuted a three-year federal prison sentence the rapper had for falsifying documents used to buy weapons. The rapper ended up serving half of his sentence.
