Will The Tampa Area See That Smoke?
You’ve no doubt seen all that smoke that turned skies in New York City orange yesterday. Smoke from those wildfires in Canada have made their way south. First it was Boston. Then New York City. Now some residents in southern states are getting out those COVID-19 masks to breathe easier. But will the smoke make it to Florida?
The smoke from the wildfires will impact some Floridians either way. If you’re traveling, check your flight before you head to Tampa International because many flights have been delayed or cancelled due to the smoke.
Channel 8’s Jeffrey Berardelli thinks Florida WILL see some of the smoke. However, he thinks it’ll be so thinned out by the time it gets here that you might not even notice it here in the Tampa area. If you do notice it, it’ll likely be on Saturday and gone by Sunday.
The heat will continue though with temperatures all weekend and into next week reaching 90 degrees or more. Saturday looks to be the day we might get those pop up afternoon showers. [Source: Channel 8]
