How Were The National Broadcasters Disrespecting The Rays In The All-Star Game?
Why does it feel like the Tampa Bay Rays don’t get their due respect on a national stage, as was seen in the broadcast of the All-Star game last night?
Randy Arozarena had an amazing catch, which at least they showed. Then he got the first hit of the game. Yandy Diaz got a home run, and it was barely mentioned. They didn’t even say he was at bat because they were talking to a National League player in the outfield. But the worst was—-EVERY PLAYER was introduced as they walked onto the field EXCEPT Shane McClanahan and Wander Franco. The players (non-starters) in each league were introduced alphabetically. So right before Tampa, it was Seattle, right? The camera followed the Seattle players and then panned the home crowd reaction and kept talking about it while Shane and Wander came out. I had to rewind and watch 3 times to even see them walking at a great distance. The next player announced was from Texas.
The Rays deserve more respect and attention, especially after the historic year they are having! They’ve been dominating the standings at the #1 spot. They started the season with a 13-0 record, were the first team this season to reach 50 wins, and currently have the best record at home.
