Destiny’s Child: Are They Going On Tour?
Destiny’s Child was a trending topic on X (formerly known as Twitter) due to several tweets and videos on TikTok alleging that the iconic R&B group consisting of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams will be reuniting on the road soon.
The speculation began when the official Destiny’s Child website got an update commemorating their self-titled debut album. The album’s anniversary was February 17, 1998 and at the time Williams was not yet a part of the group. On the website it features a large 25 with footage of when Beyoncé brought out Rowland and Williams for her 2018 Super Bowl performance. Underneath the large 25 is “new website coming soon.”
A viral TikTok video shows a woman reacting to the site and upon her own digging saw that the site’s domain was purchased by Music World Entertainment. The entertainment company was previously owned by Beyoncé’s father Mathew Knowles, who was also the manager of the R&B group and managed the beginning of her solo career. However, last year, the former manager sold the entertainment company to investment group APX Capital.
The 25th anniversary and Beyoncé’s recent Renaissance request seemingly fit well together. Last week, Beyoncé requested that for the rest of the tour for fans to wear all-silver in honor of Virgo season since the superstar is a Virgo herself. Her birthday is Monday (Sept. 4) which she will be performing in Los Angeles.
“Virgo season is upon us. This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the show 8.23 – 9.22,” Beyoncé wrote on her website. “We’ll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night. Everybody mirroring each other’s joy, Virgo season together in the House of Chrome. See you there!”
Silver is also the color to celebrate a 25th anniversary.
Destiny’s Child has not reunited in the studio since their last album Destiny Fulfilled in 2004.
