Common Confirms Relationship With Jennifer Hudson On Her Show
Common and Jennifer Hudson are officially a couple. The two cheekily confirmed their relationship on Monday (Jan. 22) episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show.
In the teaser, Hudson asks Common: “Now, we gotta get down to business, Mr. Common. I’m a host and so I have to ask you this question ’cause everybody always wanna know this — are you dating anyone?”
The “GO!” rapper laughed before answering the question where he praised Hudson’s talents.
“I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life,” he said. “She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down-to-earth about her, she’s talented.”
What really tipped off the fact that he was talking about Hudson was that he wants his partner to be an EGOT winner, which Hudson is. He then asked Hudson about her relationship and she said that she is “very happy” in hers as well.
Last year, the EGOT winner spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the rumors. She summed it up to just catching a bite to eat after filming: “We shot a film together, and he played my husband. We gotta eat in between those moments.”
Hudson was referring to the thriller Breathe, where she and Common played husband and wife. The film also stars Sam Worthington and Milla Jovovich.
Jennifer Hudson and Common’s Past Relationships
Prior to their relationship, the two have been linked to other people over the years. Hudson has been married twice and has one kid, a 14-year-old son, David Daniel Otunga Jr. The EGOT winner was married to James Payton (1999–2007) and David Otunga (2007–2017).
As for Common, he has been linked to Erykah Badu, Taraji P. Henson, Serena Williams, and more in the past. His most recent relationship was with actress Tiffany Haddish. The two began dating in 2020 and ended their relationship in November 2021.
