Typically, when you think of Florida, you think of older retired generations. While it may be true that there are a lot of retirees throughout the state, younger generations are staking their claim on the Sunshine State. We’re talking about the Florida city with the most homeowners under 25.

The American Dream looked something like this. Find a job, find a partner, and start a life. Recently, MoneyGeek.com released a new report showing homeownership trends are changing, and it may not be for the better.

According to a study done by the Berkeley Institute for Young Americans, “individuals under 44 are purchasing homes at a slower rate than those over 60 did at their age. They're also selecting different locations to settle down.”

MoneyGeek analyzed data from the U.S. Census Bureau to create this report. They found that the majority of all different age groups prefer cities located in the South and/or the Western United States.

Florida is an attractive choice for many young people. As another year of graduates hits the job market, they'll be looking to plant some roots with new opportunities.

Looking To Relocate Out Of Florida? These States Will Pay You To Move There

Looking to move out of Florida? If the answer is yes, some states will pay you to move there. I love it here in St. Petersburg, so I will not be moving anytime soon. I often hear people complaining about the cost of living and saying that Florida has become overcrowded. If you are one of those people and want to get paid to move, you have come to the right article.

Cost Of Living In Florida

According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the average cost of living per year in the Sunshine State is $50, 689 per person. That comes out to about $4,224 per person each Month. Do you agree with this assessment? Is it more or less for you each month/year? Feel free to email me Babs@wild941.com.

I'm a single woman with no kids, but my rent has increased. My car is paid off and I really need a new one, but have you seen the price of cars lately? People are paying anywhere from $600 a month for car notes for cars that are not even luxury. I think I will hold off until the prices go down. Everything around us has seemed to go up except our paychecks right? lol
