Fetty Wap Arrested For Alleged FaceTime Death Threat
Fetty Wap was arrested Monday (Aug. 8) for allegedly violating the terms of his bail by displaying a firearm and making a death threat against someone via FaceTime according to court documents obtained by NBC News.
Fetty Wap, born Willie Junior Maxwell II, was arrested in Newark, N.J., and indicted in the Eastern District of New York, according to John Marzulli, Eastern District of New York spokesperson. U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven Locke revoked the rapper’s bond on Monday afternoon. This means that Fetty will remain in jail, Marzulli told NBC News.
Court documents obtained by the outlet revealed that “the government obtained a video recording of a FaceTime call in which Fetty Wap threatened an unnamed individual on Dec. 11, 2021. He pointed the gun at the individual and said, ‘Imma kill you and everybody you with,’ as well as ‘I’m gonna kill you,’ which he repeated several times during the call.”
The alleged threat and possession of a firearm violated the terms of his Nov. 5 release on $50,000 bond in connection with allegations of conspiracy to possess and sell controlled substances, according to authorities the outlet reports.
The FBI arrested Fetty Wap on Oct. 28 in connection with allegations of a conspiracy to distribute drugs in New York; he pleaded not guilty. He was one of six individuals indicted in the federal case.
