How I’m Prepping For Hurricane Milton
I know what you're thinking... "Here we go again." Not even two weeks after Hurricane Helene, here we are bracing ourselves for Hurricane Milton, as it is set to approach the Tampa gulf coast by Wednesday. For Helene my family and I did not prepare ourselves for the worst. Luckily the flooding that happened in our Tampa neighborhood dd not make its way into the house but, for this upcoming hurricane we are not taking any chances, and we will be ready. It’s important to be well-prepared to make sure your family and home are safe. Reflecting on our close call with Helene my family and I have made our checklist of things we will need come Wednesday. Franchize's Supplies Checklist: Water and Food (Non-Perishable): We are going to store a few cases of water along with a supply of non-perishable food items like canned goods, granola bars, cereal, snacks and dried fruit. First Aid Kit: Got to make sure your first aid kit is stocked with band-aids, antiseptic wipes, etc. Flashlights and Batteries: We were lucky to not lose power last time but, we expect power outages with this hurricane coming straight through Tampa. Keep a flashlight for each family member and extra batteries on deck. Important Home Documents: We are gathering all major documents, like insurance policies, medical records, and identification. Cash Money: Make sure you have cash on you just in case ATMs are down. Evacuation Plan: We are being alert and identifying all safe locations, whether it’s a nearby shelter or a relative's house outside the area. Pet Supplies: Don’t forget your pets! Our dog Charlie must be protected also! So we will make sure we have his food and all his dog necessities. After narrowly escaping the flooding from Hurricane Helene, our family has learned the importance of being prepared. We’ve secured our home and are fully stocked for Milton. Remember, stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. It can make all the difference in ensuring your family’s safety during this hurricane that is on pace to be a severe one. Stay safe guys!
