‘The Boondocks’ Star Cedric Yarbrough Says Reboot Was Canceled By Sony
Fans hoping that the beloved animated show The Boondocks would be gracing their television once again are now disappointed that it, reportedly, won’t be coming back. According to Cedric Yarbrough, the actor who voiced Tom DuBois, Sony Pictures Television has “pulled the plug” on the reboot.
“I hate to say this, but…the show is, right now, not coming back. I don’t know if this is breaking news, but we’ve been wanting to do the show,” said Yarbrough per HotNewHipHop. “Sony…they decided they’re going to pull the plug. So, I don’t know. Hopefully, maybe one day we’ll be able to revisit. If we don’t, then that’s what that is, but, I wish the show was coming back.”
News of the show making a comeback began in 2019 but after the passing of John Witherspoon who voiced Grandad, some fans were skeptical on how they could move on with the show.
The animated series, which derived from a popular comic strip, ran from 2005 to 2014 creating four seasons of unforgettable laughs. For now, all four seasons of The Boondocks are available on Hulu to stream.
