Miley Cyrus attends 2021 LACMA's Art+Film 10th Annual Gala at Los Angeles County Museum of Art on November 06, 2021 in Los Angeles, California.

Miley Cyrus’ plane was forced to make an emergency landing after getting struck by lightning Tuesday night (March 22). The singer was traveling to Paraguay to headline day 2 of the Asunciónico festival, but her plans were canceled after the plane rerouted to safety.

“To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción. Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lightning,” Cyrus wrote on Twitter. “My crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing.”

Cyrus showed a video of the terrifying situation from her seat on the plane. Filming the view outside her airplane window, the black sky suddenly lights up with a flash of lightning. Passengers can be heard letting out big gasps.

“We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. I LOVE YOU,” Cyrus, 29, added with a broken red heart emoji, with a photo of where the lightening struck the plane and left incinerated.

Cyrus has been performing in South America recently, with her most recent performance being in Bogota, Colombia at the  Movistar on Monday, and Lollapalooza Argentina and Chile in eye-catching jumpsuits.
