Parts Of Tampa’s Downtown Riverwalk Is Closing: Here’s Why
The reason parts of Tampa’s downtown Riverwalk is closing. If you love to get outdoors and walk or bike, one of the best places to do that is the Tampa Riverwalk. Since it was constructed, it has been a very popular place.
For those people who use the riverwalk, they are going to have to take a detour soon. The City of Tampa announced that they are going to have to close part of the Riverwalk for construction. The Riverwalk will be rerouted onto Ashley Drive. This will be right in front of the Wells Fargo building, between Whiting Street and Borein Street. This is going to be a little bit of an inconvenience for those who walk or bike. Construction crews will build a protected walkway around the future site of the Pendry Residences. This is so the Riverwalk can stay open during the two-year construction period.
The closure and detour will last about four to six weeks. The construction project won’t be finished until 2025.
Pendry Residences Tower is supposed to open sometime in 2025. It is 38 stories and will include a 5-star hotel as well as condominiums.
