Drake Announces ‘Scary Hours 3’ Release
Drake has a new project underway. The 6God announced that the third installment in his Scary Hours series will be released at midnight. Drizzy took to Instagram Thursday (Nov. 16) to share a cinematic trailer of Scary Hours 3. The trailer is narrated by Drake as scenic views of Toronto in the night slowly pass by.
He addressed his fans while narrating, explaining how this project came to be.
“I’ll say this to you: I’m not… I feel no need to appease anybody. I feel so confident about the body of work that I just dropped that I know I could go and disappear in whatever for whatever, six months, a year, or two years — even though I’m not really into the super lengthy disappearances for the sake of mystery,” he says of his latest LP For All The Dogs that was released last month.
“You know, ultimately, it’s coming to me in a way that I haven’t experienced maybe since If You’re Reading This. Where you’re just kind of like, I feel like I’m on drugs. I feel like I’m in that mental state without doing anything. I did those songs in the last five days, and I didn’t have one bar written down for those songs on the night For All My Dogs dropped. It’s not like I’m picking up from some unfinished s—; this is just happening on its own, and who am I to fight it? To fight back against the right thing would be wrong.”
After his narration, you see Drake walking into a theater, and an orchestra begins to play. The conductor then shows a program that reads, “October’s Very Own & The Boy Present: Scary Hours 3. Executive Producers: Noel Cadastre, Aubrey Graham, Kevin Durant.”
The history of Scary Hours
The first Scary Hours was released in 2018. It featured no guest appearances and produced songs “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity.” That was followed by the second installment Scary Hours 2 in 2021. It had three songs with guest appearances from Lil Baby on “Wants and Needs” and Rick Ross on “Lemon Pepper Freestyle.” Drake went solo for “What’s Next.” There’s no word on if he will have features on the EP.
