Shake Shack Is Giving Away Free Chicken Sandwiches Every Sunday

Chick-fil-A who?? It happens to the best of us, you’re out running errands on a Sunday when you get the craving for a chicken sandwich. Well, for a limited time,  you can get a free chicken sandwich at Shake Shack in Tampa. But this deal is only redeemable on Sundays. Shake Shack is obviously trying to one-up Chick-fil-A after they recently announced they are introducing antibiotics to their chicken.

You can only get this deal by ordering through the kiosk at the store or on the Shake Shack app. The offer won’t work for third parties like Uber Eats. The other catch is you need to spend $10 in order to redeem the deal. But that’s not hard to do at Shake Shack. An order of cheese fries and a milkshake is about $11 after tax. Just make sure you use the code ‘CHICKENSUNDAY‘ at checkout.

Shake Shack has some awesome limited-time items on their menu. They have added Korean BBQ burgers, sandwiches, and fries. The shakes all look so yummy. The new flavors include Coffee and Donuts made with coffee frozen custard hand-spun with donut crunch, topped with whipped cream. It has the same amount of caffeine as 2 cups of coffee, so it’s the perfect mid-day snack. Other flavors include Frozen Hot Cocoa and Maple Snickerdoodle.

Those delicious shakes we just mentioned? Well, you can get them for free during the afternoons. Order at the kiosk or through the app between 2-5 pm. Make sure you use the code ‘FAVESHAKE‘. But like with the chicken sandwich deal, you need to spend $10 to redeem. This deal lasts until June 26.

Let’s be real, inflation has hit us all. And between working more hours, and the cost of food/living, sometimes you don’t have it in you to cook a whole meal. We saw a recent thread on Reddit about the cheapest places to eat in the  Tampa Bay area. We thought we would share the 5 best options.

Shoutout to the Reddit user fabricbandaids who asked this question a few days ago. The thread has over 150 comments with many options on where to find cheap meals or restaurants. Someone suggested buying a whole pub sub on sale with instructions to leave it uncut. When you get home cut it into 3-4 portions instead. Or you can politely ask to get your veggies in a bag, and they can be used to cook a meal later on. Keep in mind you’re still paying about $8 for the sub. Remember when a pub sub sale meant it was $5.99? Those were the good days.

Another tip that was suggested is to take advantage of the BOGO deals on Uber Eats. Bonus if you have a Capitol One credit card, you get a free Uber Eats subscription (which means no delivery fee), 10% cash back, and 40% off coupons regularly. You can also try downloading the Too Good To Go app for some amazing deals!

Cooking At Home vs. Going Out

Obviously one of the best ways to save money for your meals is to cook at home. Many Reddit users say they saved a bunch on Kroger delivery rather than shopping at Publix. Personally, I do all my shopping at Aldi and Costco. This brings us to that classic $1.50 hot dog and soda meal and $5 rotisserie chicken, you can’t beat that deal. According to U.S. News, it is “hands down” cheaper to cook at home rather than seek out fast food. But it’s all about how you shop. Make sure you only buy perishables that you have plans for, buy fruits only in season, or frozen fruits/veggies, and don’t stray away from store brands.

    Okay hear us out on this one… Ikea might be one of the best hacks for a cheap hot meal. They offer a hot dinner for $3.99 on Tuesdays, and other daily deals like 50% off entrées every Friday! You may need an Ikea family membership, but it is free to sign up.

  • Luv Child

    Be sure to stop at Luv Child for happy hour from 3p-6:30p. They have $5 nachos and grande quesadilla that is super filling!

  • Hot Rocks Pizza

    Hot Rocks Pizza is an underrated Tampa pizza spot. Not only do they have weekly specials, but they also have a lunch deal with a 2 slice/drink combo for less than $8.     Latin Fresh Market located at 4349 Gunn Highway, Tampa has awesome deals on fresh produce and meats. Plus they have a huge $7 cuban sandwich that is delicious.
