Tampa To Orlando High Speed Rail Takes Another Step Forward
We’re a step closer to connecting Tampa and Orlando via a high speed rail. Brightline and Central Florida’s Sunshine Corridor were awarded up to $15,875,000 in federal funds as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Grant Program.
With this money, Brightline could begin work on the rail that will connect Tampa to Orlando with trains reaching speeds as high as 125 mph. Eventually connecting Miami, Fort Lauderdale and hopefully St. Pete.
