2 Dead After Being Electrocuted By Fallen Power Line In Central Florida
Reports tell us that 2 people are dead after being electrocuted by a power line the fell down in Orange County this morning. Orange County Sheriffs office tells us that it happened in the area of Bayfront Parkway and Pershing Avenue as Tropical Storm Nicole came through with heavy wind and rain. Police responded to a neighborhood where a man was found unresponsive after he got out of his vehicle and made contact with a live downed power line. He died on the scene. A woman who was traveling with him died at the hospital from injuries.
A spokesperson from the Orange County Sheriffs department made a statement saying, “We are urging all of our residents and visitors to use extreme caution if they are outside in the wake of the storm today, never touch a downed power line. If you are driving and see a downed power line, change directions immediately.”
