Florida Woman Who Almost Threw Away Her Winning Lottery Ticket Has Been Identified
I am so happy that this Florida woman did not throw away her winning lottery ticket. I personally have thrown away many tickets here in Saint Petersburg but they were indeed losing tickets! Jill Rowell of Grand Ridge purchased a $50 lottery scratch off ticket from a gas station. After scratching the ticket off, Rowell thought she didn’t win anything. She was going to throw away the ticket until someone told her she should check it one more time.
Rowell says she scanned the ticket and seen it was a big winner! After that, she drove straight to the Florida Lottery headquarters which was an hour a way from where she was. Rowell collected her winnings and was thrilled to take a picture! If you are wondering what game she played, it was the new “$1,000,000 A Year for Life Spectacular” scratch-off game.
Rowell chose to take her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment. After taxes, she walked away with $640,000. The Super Snead gas station that sold the ticket will get a $2K bonus commission. The “$1,000,000 A Year for Life Spectacular” is a new Florida Lottery game. Winners get the option of claiming $1 million a year for life or a single $1 million payment.
I have a question. If you were in this situation, would you hook up the person who advised you to check the ticket again before throwing it away? If so how much money would you give him/her? If it were me I would have to give that person something. Im not sure how much. If it wasn’t for them, you would have missed out on that $1M.
When you play the new Scratch-Off game $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR, sometimes your day can go from so-so to super spectacular! Jill Rowell of #GrandRidge stopped at Super Snead’s and won a $1 million prize! 👉https://t.co/NhTxzv6thg pic.twitter.com/M2uH93np7l
