A Florida Baby Died After The Mother Mixed Fentanyl With Baby Formula
Sadly you read the headline right, a Florida baby died after the mother mixed fentanyl with baby formula. The baby boy was rushed to a a Jacksonville hospital where he was shortly pronounced dead.
On June 26th, police went to a home in Callahan where the baby boy was found unresponsive. The baby’s 17-year-old mother initially told investigators that she had no clue what happened, but her story changed in each interview over the course of a couple of weeks.
She was a teenage mother and was arrested following the incident. At first she lied but then later told police she was tired and wanted to take a nap on the day the baby died.
She admitted that she filled a baby bottle with a mixture of formula and what she thought was cocaine. It latter turned out to be fentanyl. The teen has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and aggravated manslaughter.
This story is so sad and it angers me at the same time. Hey it’s Babs and if you listen to me on the radio, I’ve talked about my struggles with having a baby. It makes me upset that people are blessed with babies, and do the wrong things. I get the mom was a teenager, but she should have known better. This was no accident and she meant to cause harm to the baby.
Praying for the other family members involved in this situation and I also pray that the courts don’t go easy on the mother. I dislike when people get off easy after committing heinous acts against children. Tired of these stories where a baby dies because of their parents neglect. Two weeks ago I reported on a story where parents in Florida were arrested after their 18-month-old died. They left the baby in a hot car over night.
