A $36M Florida Lottery Ticket Expires Today! Sadly, the individual who won had until Friday to actually claim it at the headquarters in Tallahassee. What do you think happened? Did this person throw the ticket away? Lose it? Or maybe they forgot they had it. Either way, it sucks and now $36M will go unclaimed.
Mega Millions Ticket worth $36M Expires 2/11/2024
On Thursday the Florida lottery announced that a Mega Millions winning ticket worth $36M had yet to be claimed. This ticket was sold at a Jacksonville Publix located at 4495 Roosevelt Boulevard. This particular winning ticket was from a drawing held on August 15th 2023.
The numbers drawn were 18, 39, 42, 57, and 63. The Mega Ball number was 7 and the Multiplier was 3X. The person who purchased this ticket had 180 days from the draw date to claim the prize. Yes, the ticket expires today but the Florida Lottery Headquarters is closed. The person would have had to be there by 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
Sadly if the prize is over $1M, the winner must claim it at the Florida Lottery Headquarters. According to lottery officials, there is no way a person can mail it in because the prize is over $250K. Have You Ever Threw Something Important Away?
I don’t know what happened to this winning lottery ticket. My guess is that the person accidentally threw the ticket away. This has happened to me before but it was not a lottery ticket. I once threw away $1K! I know, how the heck does that happen?
