Florida Teen Dead After Opening The Door At A Sleepover
Sadly, you read the headline right. “Florida teen dead after opening the door at a sleepover.” This horrific incident happened in Wildwood which is about two hours from where I live in St. Petersburg. Police are still investigating and trying to figure out exactly what happened. What we do know is that the suspect was also a teenager and he knew the victim.
Florida Teen Dead After Being Stabbed At A Sleepover
The Sumter county sheriffs office tells that on Saturday night they arrived on the 6000 block of CR 148 and discovered that a teenage boy and adult had been stabbed. As they started to investigate they found out that the teenage boy was hosting a sleepover when the stabbings happened. According to reports, the teenage boy was stabbed by another teenage boy who arrived at the house unannounced.
When the suspect arrived witnesses say he was banging on the door. The teen who was hosting the sleepover went to open the door and that’s when things turned violent. The suspect went inside the house and immediately swung on the victim and then began to stab him. A 48-year-old man who was inside the house went to go see what was going on and that’s when the suspect stabbed him as well. A third victim was threatened but he came out unscathed. Both victims were airlifted to nearby hospitals. Sadly the teen boy died but the 48-year old victim remains in ICU.
Florida Teen Charged With Premeditated First-Degree Murder
After causing chaos, the suspect fled on foot but was later caught by the sheriffs office. The 16-year-old told them that he had purchased the weapons online. Once the weapons arrived to his house he played with them for a little and then decided to go to the victims house. He allegedly walked nearly 6 miles to the victims residence. The two teens were both homeschooled and did know each other. There is still no clear motive on why he stabbed the two victims.
The sheriff’s office says the suspect was taken to the Sumter County Jail and he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, premeditated first‐degree murder, and armed burglary.
