Lightning Strike Caught On Camera Hitting A Hillsborough Sheriffs Car
Last Friday a Hillsborough County sheriff’s car was damaged by a lighting strike on I-75. The deputy say’s she was driving on I-75 northbound from the Sun City Center. It was just after 4 pm when a big thunderstorm started moving in. As the officer was driving through the rain she heard a loud cap of thunder. Soon as the clap of thunder happened, her dashboard lights turned on and then the entire car turned off. When she looked in the review mirror she saw smoked and thought her entire tire popped off. When she and others pulled over, one of the other cars had actually caught footage of what happened. A passenger in the vehicle behind her caught the exact moment the lightning hit her car.
